We respect your privacy. This Policy describes the personal information Task AI processes and the choices you have.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Task AI ("the App") collects, how we use it, who we share it with and what rights you have. We aim to collect only what is necessary to operate the App.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: when you sign in, we receive your email address and a unique user ID from the authentication provider. We store a profile record containing your display name, preferred language, an avatar color and your subscription state. Content you create: tasks, subtasks, chat messages with the AI assistant, group memberships, group tasks, group submissions and saved templates. Images: photos you attach to chat messages, tasks or group submissions are uploaded to private storage in our backend, accessible only by you (and, for group submissions, by other members of that group). Usage data: we keep a per-month counter of AI messages you send to enforce the free-tier quota, and a small number of timestamps used to deduplicate the daily morning and evening briefings. Device and notifications: with your permission, the App registers a push-notification token with the operating-system push service so we can send you task reminders and briefings. Subscription data: when you purchase a subscription, our subscription provider and the relevant app store provide us with your subscription status, tier and renewal date. We do not receive your payment-card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: (a) provide and maintain the core features of the App; (b) authenticate you and keep you signed in; (c) send your messages, tasks and images to the AI provider so it can generate responses; (d) enforce free-tier quotas and validate paid subscriptions; (e) deliver push notifications you have opted into; (f) detect, prevent and address abuse, fraud or technical problems.

4. Legal Bases (EEA / UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) for providing the App and processing your requests; your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for push notifications and other optional features; and our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in keeping the App secure, preventing abuse and improving the service.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We share data with the following processors strictly to operate the App: • Supabase — hosts authentication, database and image storage. All your account, task, chat and image data is stored on Supabase servers. • Google (Gemini API) — receives your chat messages, the relevant chat history and any images you upload, in order to generate AI responses. Do not include sensitive personal information you do not want processed by an AI provider. • Google Sign-In and Apple Sign in with Apple — used for authentication; they receive only what is necessary to verify your identity. • Superwall — manages paywalls and synchronizes your subscription state. • Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging — deliver push notifications. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. International Transfers

The providers above may process your data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses provided by the relevant processor.

7. Data Retention

We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account from the in-app settings, your profile, tasks, subtasks, chat messages, group memberships and stored images associated with your account are deleted from our database. Backups and platform-level logs may persist for a limited period before being overwritten in the normal course of operations.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; delete your information; object to or restrict certain processing; receive a portable copy of your data; and lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. You can exercise most of these rights directly in the App by editing your profile, clearing your chat or deleting your account from Settings. For other requests, please contact us through the in-app support channel.

9. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls that ensure each user can only access their own data. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong account on your authentication provider and keep your device protected.

11. Notifications and Permissions

Push notifications, camera access and photo-library access are optional and only requested when you enable the related feature. You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you in the App or by other reasonable means and update the "last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
